New Council Members Appointed for the North American Territory of the Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi

Following the recent appointment of Katie Tuttle as territorial director for North America, three new council members have been appointed to serve alongside her in accompanying and guiding the life and mission of the Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi throughout the territory. Katie and the new Territorial Council will begin their three year term on August 1, 2026 and they will continue to reside where they currently live.

The new territorial council is composed of:

  • Helen Yalbir – territorial vicar
  • Carrie O’Connor – councilor
  • Lisa Small – councilor

Together with the territorial director, the council collaborates in the governance, discernment, and apostolic mission of the Consecrated Women in North America, serving in communion with Regnum Christi and the Church. 

Helen Yalbir – Territorial Vicar

Helen Yalbir, originally from Saskatchewan, Canada, earned her bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Saskatchewan before consecrating her life to Jesus Christ in Regnum Christi in 2006. She later completed a bachelor’s degree in Religious and Pastoral Studies, magna cum laude, from Mater Ecclesiae College, and pursued additional formation through certifications in Catholic Youth Ministry at Franciscan University of Steubenville and Spiritual Direction at Divine Mercy University.

Driven by a passion for evangelization, accompaniment, and forming apostles for the Church, Helen has dedicated her life to helping others encounter the love of Christ in a personal and transformative way.

From 2013 to 2021, Helen served in Washington, DC, accompanying and forming youth and young women in their growth as disciples and apostles of Christ, with a particular emphasis on personal accompaniment, evangelization, and leadership development.

In addition to her local apostolic mission, she has also served the North American Territory in governance and advisory roles, including as councilor to former territorial director Kathleen Murphy and as a member of the Regnum Christi Territorial Directive College. Helen also serves as community director of the Consecrated Women in Dallas while accompanying and forming young adults in the Dallas area.

Carrie O’Connor

Carrie

Carrie O’Connor is from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and is the oldest of five siblings. She participated in ECYD and Regnum Christi activities before serving as an RC Missionary and later consecrating her life in Regnum Christi in 2003.

Following her years of formation in Rhode Island, Carrie carried out her apostolic mission in a variety of locations throughout the United States, including California, Arizona, Houston, and Dallas, serving especially in ECYD and young adult ministry. In 2015, she was missioned to Santiago, Chile, where she worked at Colegio Everest with a variety of age groups, in ECYD, and in the accompaniment of the Consecrated Women as community director and territorial councilor.

After nearly ten years serving in South America, Carrie now serves in the Cincinnati area in ECYD and youth ministry. She is passionate about accompanying young people and helping them discover a personal friendship with Christ and their mission in the Church.

Lisa Small

Lisa

Lisa Small is from New Zealand and has been a Consecrated Woman of Regnum Christi since 2001. Throughout her years of apostolic service, she has preached retreats, led formation programs, and taught in clubs, colleges, and schools throughout the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and Mexico.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Education and Development, a master’s degree in Christian Communication from Spring Arbor University in Michigan, and a master’s degree in Religious Sciences from the Regina Apostolorum Pontifical University in Rome.

Lisa currently serves as Regnum Christi locality director for Detroit, director of the community of Consecrated Women in Michigan, and a board member of Everest Collegiate and Academy. She has also served as communications director for the Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi in the North American Territory for the past eleven years.

Passionate about evangelization, prayer, discernment, and forming apostles for the Church, Lisa especially enjoys helping people discover and live out their God-given mission and vocation.

The Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi in North America express their gratitude for the generous availability and service of these women, and entrust this new stage of leadership and mission to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
