Today, January 29, at 11:30 AM at the Vatican, the delegates of the General Assemblies of the Consecrated Women and Lay Consecrated Men of Regnum Christi participated in an audience with Pope Leo XIV. The meeting, held in an atmosphere of deep spirituality and communion, represented a significant opportunity to renew the commitment to evangelization and strengthen the shared mission of serving the Church.

“The fact that they told us that we were going to have an audience with the Pope was something unusual. It has also been a wonderful grace knowing that it was with our consecrated sisters, because we feel tremendously identified with them. Knowing that we are so united, including in moments like this, gives great meaning to this meeting and to this possibility of seeing the Pope,”

Pope Leo XIV warmly received the delegates, expressing words of affection and closeness. During his address, the Pontiff reflected on the charism that identifies Regnum Christi, government as service, and communion as the foundation of all apostolic action.

Pope Leo XIV invited those present to “foster ever deeper communion throughout the Family, sharing spirituality and apostolate, living fully the specific vocation to which God has called you as members of the Society to which you belong, committed to bearing witness, through your own lives, to fidelity to the charism you have received.”

“I was very struck by the invitation to communion. I have felt an invitation to have that focus in the work that we continue to do during those days, to see how to achieve greater communion with each other, with the Church, and with the rest of the Regnum Christi family,”

One of the most emotional moments of the audience was the individual greeting that the Pope gave to each of those present. Félix Gómez and Nancy Norden, general directors of the Lay Consecrated Men and the Consecrated Women, presented the Holy Father with gifts representative of the charism and history of Regnum Christi, as a sign of gratitude and spiritual unity. The Holy Father was given a book on Regnum Christi and an icon of Christ the King made by Taís Gea, a Consecrated Woman, which represents the spirituality of Regnum Christi. In addition, each of those present received a rosary from the Holy Father.

The audience concluded with a group photograph, accompanied by a spontaneous round of applause that reflected the joy shared among all those present.

“What struck me most about the Pope’s words was how he spoke of renewal, of making things new, and how we are receivers of a charism that is marked by Jesus, reaffirmed by the Church, and invites us to holiness,”

The General Assemblies of both vocations that are taking place in these days constitute a moment to discern current progress and challenges, as well as to renew the evangelizing mission. The assemblies foster co-responsibility and dialogue, allowing each vocation—Lay Consecrated Men, Consecrated Women—as well as the Legionaries of Christ in their general chapter—to actively contribute to the mission of proclaiming Christ and serving the Church, in fidelity to the identity and priorities of Regnum Christi.

“I believe that this meeting with the Holy Father, which has been like oxygen both for the Lay Consecrated Men and for us Consecrated Women, strengthens and encourages a service of great responsibility and commitment, marked by a deep gratitude for the way in which the Church, as Mother, has accompanied us and has never let us go. With this message from the Pope, full of zeal and strength, we want to serve the Church and extend the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. This is how we understand and take on our way of serving in 2026.”

In conclusion, the audience with Pope Leo XIV was presented as a call to live the vocation to proclaim Christ and serve the Church with renewed passion, maintaining the communion and apostolic commitment that characterizes Regnum Christi. In this way, the Lay Consecrated Men and Consecrated Women reaffirm their purpose to be living witnesses to love and hope in the heart of the Church and of the world.
