A few months ago, the Pastoral team of Notre Dame Center, taking into account the great expectation created around the inauguration of the Pentecost Room, looked for a way to “bring the room closer” to those who would not have the opportunity to come to the celebration due to the current difficult circumstances, or for other reasons. Such an impressive work of art, and the spiritual experience it provides, had to be offered to a wide number of people.
With this intention, the nine days prior to the feast of Pentecost were offered the possibility of praying a Novena preached from the same room, broadcast online on various social networks. In this way, believers were introduced both to the knowledge of painting and to the spiritual meaning of Pentecost.
The result was the result of teamwork that had the excellent work of the Media department of Magdala Center and Notre Dame Center.
The content of the novena, based on the painting, was intended to be a bridge between the Jewish Feast of Shavuot and the coming of the Holy Spirit on that date, in order to better understand the meaning of Pentecost.
Giving space to the diversity of styles and ways of preaching, practically all the Legionaries of Christ and Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi who work in the Holy Land were invited, since the novena was preached in both Spanish and English.
We thank the thousands of people who have wished to share with us this experience of common prayer, recalling that first Upper Room in which the Apostles gathered in prayer, together with Mary, confidently awaited the coming of the Holy Spirit.
