Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God: María Guadalupe Magaña Luna, a Consecrated Woman of Regnum Christi, passed away

On January 26, 2025, our dear sister María Guadalupe Magaña Luna, a Consecrated Woman of Regnum Christi, departed for the Father’s house at the age of 78. Her life was a testament to generous dedication and love for the Kingdom of Christ.

Born on December 1, 1946, in Tlazazalca, Michoacán, Mexico, Guadalupe was the second of twelve children born to Mr. Neftalí Magaña and Mrs. Telmina Luna. From an early age, within a deeply faithful family, she learned to live with integrity and love for God—values that would guide her entire life.

On December 8, 1969, Guadalupe made her promises as a Consecrated Woman of Regnum Christi, marking the beginning of a life wholly dedicated to God and His mission. Along with her sister Graciela, Margarita Estrada, and Patricia Bannon, Guadalupe was part of the first group of Consecrated Women in Regnum Christi. Over more than five decades of consecrated life, she served with joy and commitment in various communities and roles, excelling as a director, mentor, and international coordinator of the Faith School program.

In December 2019, Guadalupe renewed her vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience during an emotional Eucharistic celebration at the chapel of Anáhuac University in Mexico, commemorating 50 years of consecrated life. That day, surrounded by her community and in the presence of Our Lady of Guadalupe, she reaffirmed her love and fidelity to God.

Guadalupe dedicated her life to the holistic formation of generations of men and women, helping them to discover and deepen their faith. Her legacy endures in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her, thanks to her witness of charity, her unwavering love for Christ, and her tireless service.

We ask the Lord to welcome her into His eternal Kingdom and to console her family, friends, and the entire Regnum Christi family with the hope of the resurrection.

The legacy of Guadalupe Magaña Luna, as one of the first Consecrated Woman of Regnum Christi, will always serve as a beacon of light for those of us who continue to work for the Kingdom of Christ.
